Program Officer for Reception & Placement

Inspiritus’ Refugee & Immigrant Services team provides services to refugees and immigrants to guide them on a path from surviving to thriving. Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, we provide quality services to newcomers across the Southeastern United States. Under the direction of the Associate Director for Refugee Services, the Program Officer for Reception & Placement will conduct oversight and coordination of the Reception & Placement Programs in Atlanta, Savannah, Birmingham, and Nashville to ensure culturally competent case management services to refugees during their first 90 days in the United States. The Program Officer will ensure the effectiveness and quality of services through supportive program management, data management, trend analysis, training, and technical assistance.

• Location: This position which requires primary residence within the state of Georgia, Alabama, or Tennessee. Exceptions may be possible based on residence proximity to a metropolitan area where Inspiritus provides services.
• Work Environment: This is a hybrid full-time position. Some duties can be done remotely while some others require operating in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Travel up to 25%
• Monday through Friday; 9:00AM 5:00PM

Essential Functions:

• Provide support and technical assistance to local R&P teams related to issues of service delivery, documentation, reporting, and case management best practices, as well as funder obligations.
• Provide quality assurance of local R&P programs to assess program functioning and compliance with PRM/LIRS standards, identify trends and service gaps, and evaluate service models.
• Identify training needs and program challenges for the development of materials, resources, and tools to enhance the delivery of program services in accordance with best practices and PRM/LIRS policies and procedures implementation.
• Create and facilitate online and in person trainings using interactive video conferencing and presentations to inform local Inspiritus R&P staff of the most recent standards and policies regarding Reception & Placement programming.
• Contribute to writing substantial portions of various funder reports (quarterly, annual and monitoring visit reports).
• Performs the above duties at out-posted locations as assigned.
• Maintains personal and professional boundaries in the performance of the job.
• Forges mutually respectful partnerships with clients, co-workers, and partners
• Participates in Inspiritus functions and public relations activities as needed.
• Participates in in-service training and conferences related to assigned programs.
• Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
• Complies with the various federal, state, or local laws that apply to and regulate their job duties.
• Performs other duties as assigned to meet program needs.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent in human services, social work, or other applicable field and minimum of two years of previous direct work experience in Reception & Placement programming, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
• Experience working in a culturally diverse environment.
• Ability to balance the needs of the client and the support staff.
• Conviction about the capacity of people to grow and change.
• Ability to set limits and maintain the helping role of the practitioner.
• Excellent computer skills, accurate typing, and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Must have the ability to communicate with all persons in a culturally competent manner.
• Must be sensitive to the service populations’ cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
