We are currently looking for a strong Automation Specialist. The Automation Specialist (AS) position reports to the National Automation Manager. This position is responsible for the growth of Equipment & Packaging Sales and the training of reps on how to properly position automation in their sales effort. They will not only ride with sales reps to help identify automation opportunities, but they will assist in building a training program that takes the fear out of selling equipment. The AS will work closely with the Equipment Service Techs to help launch and help maintain Equipment sales. The AS will also work with the Automation Manager to build a career path for Equipment Service Techs that are interested in becoming an AS, as well as managing sales data that includes the consumable packaging sold as a result of the equipment sale.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Work with Sales Management to set up strategic travel days with reps to help identify and sell Equipment opportunities
• Assist Automation Manager with opportunities brought in by reps
• Help to build a Sales Training platform that assist the reps in properly identifying and selling full automation programs
• Manage Sales data of all consumable packaging sold as a result of the Automation effort
• Work towards a sales goal of new equipment sales
• Assist Service techs to insure we have world class service on equipment sold
• Work with Automation Manager & Service techs to market our service capabilities
• Work with Automation Manager on identifying Service Techs that would qualify for consideration to become future Equipment Special
• Assist in building a better format of Vendor Management and Vendor Qualification with a goal to standardize our distributor discount.
• Lead tracking from our manufacturers and determine which manufactures are Premier true partners.
• Work with Automation Manager to determine “go to” vendors by category
• Routinely Communicate with Sales Managers to get feedback on Reps progress with success stories and opportunities.
• Deliver our message to the sales team to sell equipment that directly touches corrugated, case erector, case packers, case sealer and labeling solutions.
• Be able to present quotes and explain in detail the functions of the equipment and how it will help the end user

ADDITIONAL CRITERIA

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Some college preferred, but not necessary
• Must have some automation experience
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
• Must have strong communications skills, both written and verbal
• Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, decision-making, planning and organizational skills are required.
• Position requires the ability to maintain an above average level of accuracy, quantity and proficiency of work in a busy atmosphere.

• Be available to work after normal business hours
• Willingness to learn and bring new ideas to the organization
