Our team of hackers and engineers has experience spanning centuries of research, development, and operations missions across desktop, mobile, IoT, and embedded platforms. Hackers of more than just engineering domains, we have exploited IRS regulations to become an ESOP which is effectively a not-for-profit where we legally exist for the benefit of the Kudites instead of selling our souls to Private Equity. Job Description:
The Senior Python Developer will refine existing implementations and solve emerging problems with a strong focus on meeting the customers’ needs while supporting an active research and development program/team with expertise in the following:
Responsibilities:
- Advanced proficiency with software development in Python.
- Experience using Python for large codebases and development teams (Python typing, namespace packages, complex dependency management, packaging)
- Expertise building and distributing Python software packages (wheels, local package registries, etc.) and deploying services using Docker.
- Expertise with concurrency in Python using threads, multiprocessing, asyncio.
- Expertise with Docker and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, AWS, etc.)
- Experience implementing observability patterns in Python (centralized logging, tracing, metrics)
- Expertise with unit and functional testing in python (Pytest, test parametrization, mocking, etc.)
- Experience with event-based architectures (websockets, event-bus solutions, etc.)
- Experience with GitLab CI/CD
- Experience working in an Agile Scrum development team
- Database administration/development experience (PostgreSQL)
- Experience supporting a full-stack solution including RESTful API
- Experience with Twelve-Factor App methodology
- Linux system administration experience
- Self-starter requiring minimal supervision
- Intelligent, proactive and driven to achieve results
Qualifications:
- US Citizenship with a TS/SCI or the ability to obtain this level of clearance
- BS/MS (BA/MA) in a technical degree field, plus a minimum of 10 years directly related experience. In lieu of a degree, 15 years of directly related experience
- Ten or more years of experience in a Python software-engineering role, preferably on a small-to-medium-sized engineering team.
