Job Title:  Addictions Counselor (CAC, LAC, or eligible)

Work Schedule:  Full-time, requiring some flexibility in scheduling.

Position:  To provide substance abuse individual and group counseling and treatment services to participants and their families based on the current ASAM criteria. 

Duties:

• Conduct bio-psycho-social assessments, intakes, and evaluations.
• Facilitate group and individual therapy sessions, aftercare counselng, and educational or support groups.
• Complete treatment plans.
• Document participant's participation in all scheduled sessions.
• Develop discharge summaries.
• Complete release and/or consent forms to appropriate individuals and agencies.
• Attend all staff meetings.
• Ensure all charting and participant notes comply with acccreditation requirements.
• Keep referral agencies informed of participant's progress.
• Attend training required for professional certification and to meet program licensure standards.
• Follow A-TEAM Cultural Code.
• Work to ensure positive professional relationships with staff, participants, and others essential to organizational success and standards.
• Utilize EMS system for record keeping and maintaining appropriate documentation.
• Provide case management services as needed.
• Carryout other duties as assigned, within reason and within scope of professional licensure.

Requirements:

• Master's Degree and a miimum of two year's related work experience.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and balance perspectives.
• Effective communication, appropriate boundaries, flexibility, willingness to learn.
• Must be certified, or certifiable, as CAC or LAC level for addiction couseling in South Dakota.
• Must have valid driver's license and insurance.
