Responsibilities:
The Junior Property Accountant will:
- Prepare and process accounts receivables and payables.
- Post general ledger and journal entries.
- Scan physical payments and branch deposits received.
- Re-class improper GL coding and reconcile bank statements, including security deposits.
- Maintain work papers and account analysis, including a monthly closing checklist.
- Assist with portions of property annual budgets and operating expense reimbursement.
- Assist with tenant billings.
- Tie GPR to rent roll.
- Calculate management and bookkeeping fees and pilot payments.
- Connect and collect from subsidy agencies with balances.
- Track ERAP payments received.
- Cut checks when necessary
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- 2 years of professional Accounting experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel
- Strong analytical, organizational, and vendor management skills
- Effective problem-solving skills and sound judgement
- Ability to function well in a tea-oriented setting and respond well to constructive criticism
- Experience with affordable multi-family properties
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple assignments efficiently and work in a dynamic deadline-driven environment
- Experience with Yardi
- Real Estate background
