Eliot's Emergency Residence supporting latency age children (infancy to 12 years old) referred by the Department of Children and Families, is seekinga Milieu Specialist II with two years of experienceworking with the population.

Our ideal candidate will have the ability to establish a positive rapport with a culturally and economically diverse group of children and families and to deliver services within the established trauma informed and strengths-based framework.

Eliot’s Social Services Division includes short-term community-based assessment, stabilization and support programs (Emergency Residence) for latency age children (birth to 12 years old).

The programs are contracted with the Department of Children and Families and provide a safe, structured, and respectful environment for children and youth to thrive, change and grow by focusing on treatment, skill-building, and permanency. .

Responsibilities :

• Serve as the lead staff for all assigned shifts, ensuring all policies are followed and systems are completed.
• Provide monthly documented supervision for assigned staff.Participate in yearly performance evaluations for assigned staff.
• Participate in the development and implementation of Individual Action and Crisis Prevention Plans.
• Attend supervision, staff and shift change meetings and training as required.
• Lead daily groups as assigned.
• Manage the program security equipment including radios, keys, and all other assigned equipment according to policy.
• Actively monitor and participate in community service, recreation, visits, family time and other off ground activities.
• Safely transport youth to activities, appointments, school, work, and visits.
• Participate in intakes as needed.

Qualifications :

• High School diploma and at least two years related experience with the population.
• Must be able to adhere to a model of care that focuses on Trauma Informed Care and Interventions.
• Must be at least twenty (20) years old and possess a valid Massachusetts driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from work and for the transportation of clients to and from appointments and activities as needed.
• Demonstrates sound judgment and effective, solution focused, problem solving skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with residents, staff, co-workers and supervisor.
• Ability to physically carry out Crisis Prevention Intervention techniques
