Job Title: Patient Services Worker
SUMMARY
Responsible for the delivery and collection of trays and menus to and from patients/residents. Acts as liaison between the patient, Food and Nutrition Department and Nursing Services during meal times for the communications of all patient /resident food needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintains friendly, efficient, Spirit of Service attitude towards customers, co-workers and clients.
Familiar with tray identification system and has basic nutrition knowledge as related to the patient/resident menu program.
Delivers and collects patient /resident trays during meal service.
Carries an assortment of condiments and miscellaneous supplies to the patient/resident floors to alleviate problems with menu errors and to meet patient /resident requests according to the prescribed Nutrition Care Orders.
Delivers early and late patient/resident trays when ordered by Nursing Services.
Reports all meal service related problems, as observed, on patient/resident floors to the Patient/Resident Service Manager. Records problem and notifies Nutrition Office of the same as necessary.
Delivers nourishment and/or between meal snacks to patient/resident as ordered by Food and Nutrition Services and Nursing Services.
Distributes and collects patient/resident menus and assists patients/residents, as required, in completing menu choices.
Visits patients/residents to introduce the services of the Food and Nutrition Services Department. May interview patients/residents to obtain food preferences and some basic information utilizing the appropriate forms.
Adheres to all established systems and training programs to provide a safe working environment. Complies with all OSHA regulations and other local, state and federal regulations.
Recognizes and adopts activities appropriate to the specific needs of patient/resident population and demonstrates knowledge of specific issues directly related to age of patient/resident population.
Maintains compliance with ARAMARK’s standards of operation, client and within ARAMARK’s Business Conduct Policy. Maintains all records and reports necessary to regulations and codes.
Maintains compliance with all requirements of Federal, State and local regulations and guidelines including the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967, as amended, and the Americans with Disabilities Act, as amended.
Performs all other related duties.
