Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the structural design and development of new software systems or extensive software revisions for external customers.
• Analyzes software requirements and defines system components to ensure efficient and scalable software architecture.
• Designs and implements software solutions to consider business and technical needs and ensures compatibility with existing systems.
• Creates and maintains architecture documentation such as design specifications and diagrams to guide future maintenance and development.
• Works with non-technical stakeholders to analyze requirements and understand constraints, dependencies, and business needs.
• Has in-depth knowledge of software development processes and methodologies.
• Reports to a manager.
• Work is highly independent.
• May assume a team lead role for the work group.
• A specialist on complex technical and business matters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science
• 10 - 14 years’ experience working in a software development environment
• Specific experience supporting the development, modification and maintenance of the Asset Gold MIS for Navy FMS programs
• Experience in leading diverse teams in challenging environments
• Ability to lead and manage in a collaborative and communicative style

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described herein are representative of those which must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Employees must possess the ability to work in a standard office or conference room setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer.

To visit other company sites, employees must be able to operate a motor vehicle and fly in an aircraft, both of which may require sitting for prolonged periods of time. Employees must possess vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups and over the telephone. Standing in work areas and walking between work areas will be required. This position requires an employee to occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance; reach, push, and pull drawers and doors open and closed. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
