Job Description:

• Accountant II Performs routine (journey-level) accounting and bookkeeping work.
• Work involves review, analysis, and preparation of accounting documents and reports.
• Specializes in payment of vendor invoices.
• May provide technical advice to department and program staff on proper accounting treatment of vendor invoices.
• Reviews and determines appropriate account codes and/or chart field information to code accounting documents, including but not limited to, vouchers, invoices, and other financial documents.
• Uses a variety of software applications including Quickbooks, ServiceCore, Excel, and Word to perform essential job functions.
• Works under moderate supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
• Recommends appropriate actions to resolve financial issues and Notifies management of significant problems.
• Responsible for the financial analysis and preparation of Annual Non-Financial Report.
• Responsible for responding to internal and external audits
• Responsible for tracking and making the appropriate accounting entries.
• Investigates, monitors, and clears or oversees the clearing of reconciling items.
• Communicates professionally and responsibly with CFO.
• Provide timely communication and ensure deadlines are met.
• Completes designated assignments.
