* Evaluate farm loan program activities carried out by Service Centers.
* Provide technical advice and assistance to Service Center farm loan staff on the most complex loan cases.
* Develop and/or recommend guides, procedures, forms, information releases, and similar issuances for use by various offices.
* Appraise farms and determines normal value and present market value.
* Analyze and recommend decisions in appeal cases submitted to the State Office.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date 06/03/2024 of the announcement including time-in-grade restrictions, specialized experience and/or education, as defined.
For the GS-11 level:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes working with agricultural loans by reviewing and passing upon applications for various kinds of agricultural operations representing all types of ownership (i.e., single owner, partnerships, and corporations, etc.); and servicing an agricultural loan portfolio of a bank or other loan association. In addition, my experience demonstrated a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the technicalities of farm financing and credit; farm operations, land use and value, production of various crops and livestock, and prices and markets in the farming area where loans are made and serviced. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: major field of study in finance, business administration, economics, accounting, engineering, mathematics, banking and credit, law, statistics, or other fields related to the position, such as agriculture, agricultural economics, farm, livestock or ranch management, or rural sociology.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
For the GS-12 level:

THE SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION IS NOT QUALIFYING FOR THE GS-12 LEVEL.
