JOB SUMMARY :
The Coordinator of Field Studies (CFS) is responsible for creating solid relationships with local school districts and fostering mutually beneficial partnerships that enhance the Archway Project (residency Model).
The CFS understands the Teacher Education (TE) program, its courses, and the connections between them and the Clinical Experience and Clinical Practice requirements.
S / he also works to ensure that placements in K- schools align with the course needs and certification requirements and ensures programming continuity.
The CFS creates both Memoranda of Understanding and Memoranda of Agreement between Ramapo College and K- schools to ensure all parties' needs are met.
The CFS oversees the operations of the Clinical Practice Capstone, including hiring adjunct faculty as Clinical Supervisors and assigning, in consultation with the Assistant Dean, the supervisory responsibilities to full-time TE faculty or Archway Project leaders.
The CFS works under the direct supervision of the Assistant Dean of Teacher Education.

TEACHER PREPARATION COORDINATOR'S RESPONSIBILITIES
Review and revise, as needed, the structure, scope, and sequence of Program course work and staffing to align with the intensive clinical experiences of the residency
Ensure field experiences provide authentic learning opportunities for candidates and meet student learning needs inside schools
Review the curricular scope and sequence to ensure residents have requisite skills and knowledge prior to beginning their residency placement and have aligned coursework supportive of their placements throughout the residency year
Align residency placements and expectations with the District calendar
Assign a full-time faculty member to the district whose duties may include regular support and supervision of residents, delivering embedded coursework, supporting mentor teachers, and providing professional learning opportunities
Commit to redirecting and realigning existing resources to support candidates during their residency placements
Budgetary Responsibilities :
Maximize access to financial aid and other financial supports
Create economies in the programwithout compromising quality
Commit to redirecting and realigning existing resources to support teacher development and school improvement needs within partner districts
Ensure internal policies align with the responsibilities of College Faculty / District Staff in supporting full-time students.
Establishes relationships with K- public and private schools.
