We have an immediate opening for a Senior Sales Manager (this is a remote based role with visits to office in Lakewood, Ohio). The primary function of this position is developing and implementing strategic sales plans, forecasting sales targets, and fostering strong relationships with customers to maximize sales potential.

Description of Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets, expand market share, and maximize value.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align sales strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Assist in developing annual sales forecasts and budgets, providing input based on market insights and customer feedback.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, serving as the point of contact for sales-related inquiries and support.
  • Conduct regular customer visits to understand their needs, address concerns, and identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling.
  • Proactively engage with customers to anticipate their future needs and provide solutions to enhance their satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Resolve customer issues and escalations in a timely and effective manner, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, prospecting, and networking activities working collaboratively with the business development/innovation teams
  • Develop and nurture relationships with potential customers, understanding their business challenges and presenting relevant solutions.
  • Lead the sales process from prospecting to closing, negotiating contracts, and ensuring a smooth transition to inside sales / account management teams.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to generate new leads and drive conversion.
  • Provide regular sales forecasts and progress reports to senior management, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Utilize CRM systems to maintain accurate sales records, track customer interactions, and manage sales pipelines effectively.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to optimize sales performance and achieve objectives.
  • Collaborate with R&D and business development teams on co-development, partnerships, and NPI activities with strategic customers.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
  • Proven track record (5-8 years) of successful sales experience, preferably in a B2B environment, with a focus on both account management and new business development.
  • Strong understanding of sales principles, techniques, and best practices, with demonstrated ability to drive results and exceed targets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to analyze market trends, identify opportunities, and develop effective sales strategies.
  • Proficiency in CRM and ERP software and sales analytics tools to track performance and generate actionable insights.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong project management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing business needs.
  • Proactive attitude with a strong customer focus and commitment to delivering exceptional service and value.
  • Ability to travel 50% domestically and internationally
