Job Summary
The Visiting Assistant Professor will teach online predominately synchronous graduate and undergraduate courses in Library and Information Science.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Schoolof Library and Information Science is seeking someone with excellentcommunication and interpersonal skills. The School values accountability, timemanagement, high ethical standards, and personal integrity among employees. Thisposition will teach 4 courses per semester. Typical courses focus on technologyin libraries, information science, and traditional library services-likecataloging, collection development, reference, literature, etc.
  1. Responsible for communicatingeffectively with students and faculty.
  2. Responsible for onlinesynchronous teaching of graduate and undergraduate using active learningtechniques.
  3. Responsible for assessmentof learning outcomes via assignments, discussions, and tests.
  4. Attend regularlyscheduled faculty meetings and appropriately contribute.
  5. Attend virtual Schoolevents.
  6. Mentor student researchand mentor masters capstone research projects.
  7. Follow School and Universitypolicies.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
A Doctoraldegree from an accredited college or university in Library and InformationSciences or a related field is required for teaching graduate-level courses. AMaster's degree in Library and Information Sciences is required. Experienceteaching online. Established ability to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications
One yearexperience in a professional information setting (i.e., library, archive, museum, etc.). Demonstrated competence in emergenttechnologies.
