Job Summary
The School of Education at The University of Southern Mississippi(USM) invites applicants for one full-time, Visiting Assistant Teaching Professorposition beginning in August 2022. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamicresearch, evaluation, statistics, and assessment [RESA] program. The RESAgraduate program faculty currently provide training with concentrations inadvanced statistics, advanced research design, measurement, and programevaluation. We are especiallyinterested in candidates with backgrounds in educational research that includethe use of large-scale K-12 data and/or that focus on development and analysisof educational interventions. The doctoral program emphasizes researchmentorship, diversity, and graduate teaching. Our faculty have establishedrecords of scholarship in the areas of research design, educationalfoundations, measurement, and statistics. We aim to recruit applicants who will produce impactful research, andwho will emphasize training doctoral students to become productive andthoughtful researchers. The School of Education’s RESA programs includea Master of Science degree and a Doctor of Philosophy degree. Studentstaking our courses come from diverse graduate programs both within andoutside of the school. Programdelivery includes face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats. Qualified applicants will be prepared to contributeto the teaching mission of the School of Education that has approximately 700students across six different program areas.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Facilitating research design, analysis, and implementation.
  2. Teaching and mentoring students across programs.
  3. Demonstrating an understanding of cultural competence.
  4. Contributing to the mission of the university and profession through service activities.
  5. Performing other duties as assigned.
