The Duluth Transit Authority (DTA) is currently seeking to fill a Service Worker position in our Maintenance Department. The DTA is an award-winning transit agency that provides safe, convenient, and affordable public transit service (fixed route and paratransit) within the Twin Ports of Duluth, MN and Superior, WI. We transport just under 3 million passengers annually by way of our 75 bus fleet and we employ approximately 175 team members.
The Service Worker is responsible for the cleaning, daily mechanical servicing and general assistance with maintenance-related duties. The Service Worker is responsible for cleaning the buses, providing mechanical servicing, performing minor maintenance on vehicles, making road calls and bus changes, using the necessary tools and equipment in a competent manner, performing tasks in a safe manner, keeping accurate records as required and assisting maintenance personnel as required. This position is the evening shift-Monday through Friday, from 4:30pm-1:00am.

The performance of the major job functions for this position requires the incumbent to be present at their work setting. Regular, dependable attendance is necessary for the performance of the job duties. The Duluth Transit Authority reserves the right to assign additional or different duties to employees within this job classification consistent with the changing needs of the Duluth Transit Authority. estions. Passengers can provide customer feedback using the online comment form or call one of the Information Operators. There are several major transit stops within the DTA system. These locations offer amenities for passengers such as Transit Vending Machines (TVM) and detailed system maps. The Duluth Transportation Center (DTC) has an information desk where you can purchase bus passes and ask questions. Most DTA Transit Hubs also have passenger hand schedules for the entire transit system. STRIDE is dial-a-ride transportation service for qualified individuals with disabilities in the Twin Ports. It operates in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). STRIDE operates within 3/4 of a mile from the DTAs regular routes. STRIDE fare is $3 during peak hours and $1.50 during off-peak hours and weekends. All regular-route buses are equipped with kneeling steps and retractable ramps for easy boarding. This makes buses accessible for all passengers including those with wheelchairs, scooters, strollers, walkers, crutches, and canes. Discover Duluth on the DTA Port Town Trolley! For a modest $.50-cent fare, visitors can tour Canal Park, Bayfront Park and downtown Duluth. The Port Town Trolley runs the first week in June through Labor Day.
