The Townsend Hotel is Hiring a Banquet Houseperson Near Birmingham, MI
- Responsibilities include setup and breakdown of tables, chairs and other equipment needed for the event; preparing waters, butters, creamers, including the setup, stock, and maintaining cleanliness of meeting rooms.
- Refresh meeting rooms during meals and coffee breaks.
- Clean and return equipment to proper location.
- Follow instructions on the Banquet Event Order.
- Perform multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Professionally represent the venue and the company to all our guests and achieve 100% guest satisfaction.
- Keep captains and managers updated to any staff, facility or guest concerns.
- Clean and stock appropriate work areas.
- Relate to and approach guests in a warm, welcoming demeanor.
- Follow written and/or spoken direction from supervisors for assignments.
- Communicate effectively with guests, fellow employees and management.
- Work in a team of two or more, with team spirit.
- Attend training sessions and meetings, as scheduled by management.
- Must clock in and be ready to work at scheduled time, communicate with management if unable to work a specific shift.
- Update Manager of schedule availability, detailing any shift requests two (2) weeks in advance.
- Reviewing/confirming his or her own schedule each week.
- Maintain a positive attitude to promote a positive work environment and discourage idle, disruptive gossip.
- Check with management before taking breaks or leaving at the end of a shift.
- Perform any additional tasks, duties or responsibilities assigned to this position.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Requires the ability to communicate with guests in English.
- Minimum 1 year of Banquet Houseperson experience preferred.
- Requires full mobility for entire duration of shift, including walking and standing for a period of up to eight (8) hours.
- Must be able to safely grasp, lift, carry or otherwise move items weighing up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to bend and reach.
Salary Description
$16.50 per hour plus gratuity
