Crave Brothers Farm is Hiring a Bilingual Human Resources Coordinator Near Waterloo, WI

Crave Brothers Farmstead Cheese handcrafts and packs specialty Fresh Mozzarella, Mascarpone, Farmer’s Rope String Cheese, Part-Skim Mozzarella, and Fresh Cheddar Curds on our dairy farm. We are a family-owned company and are committed to sharing our story of farmstead cheese, sustainability, and green energy with our customers and employees.

Crave Brothers Farm, located in Waterloo, WI, carries out a daily mission to care for our resources of people, cattle, land, soil, water, and air in a way that results in nutritious livestock feed, healthy cattle, high quality milk and meat, and tidy facilities, all while powered by green energy. In doing so, we aim to be a place where people want to work, have opportunities to learn, and are treated with respect.

The HR Coordinator will help coordinate and carry out all human resource projects and processes for Crave Brothers Farmstead Cheese and Crave Brothers Farm by providing administrative support as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and employee training.

Essential Job Duties:

I. Provide accurate and up-to-date information to applicants, employees, and management.

  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
  • Assist in recruitment and hiring efforts for new hires including conducting interviews, onboarding, and hosting new hire orientations.
  • Preparing and maintaining employee new hire packets and ensuring accurate and timely completion of the new hire process.
  • Stay current on Crave benefit programs and answer questions from employees in a timely and effective fashion.
  • Respond to HR questions posed by employees. Triage requests which require more targeted information and involve HR Consultant.
  • Research employee issues utilizing available resources and collaborate with other staff and/or management to determine the best response to the issue.

II. Effectively complete a variety of human resources activities

  • Maintain various confidential and time sensitive employee records.
  • Maintain electronic and paper files records according to company procedures: update records of new and existing staff.
  • Intake and process employment verifications.
  • Process and maintain workers’ compensation claims, unemployment requests, and employee requests.
  • Process Unemployment Insurance (UI) claims by all applicable due dates and inform HR Consultant of UI hearings.
  • Resolve any payroll/benefits discrepancies by partnering with payroll and HR Consultant.
  • Assist in developing and translating written policies and other customized written materials for internal use.
  • Work directly with employees and management companywide to coordinate training programs and activities.

III. Other duties as assigned.

  • Makes photocopies; mails, scans, and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions.
  • Assists or prepares correspondence as requested.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Associate’s degree in human resources or related field.
  • At least two years of human resources, administrative or similar professional experience.
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish - written and verbal.
  • Must have strong computer and software skills required, proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to operate in an open, honest, and forthright manner to build and maintain relationships with a diverse employee population.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to adapt communication style to fit the situation and audience appropriately.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to plan and coordinate work independently.
  • Must have strong analytical and time management skills: ability to discern what's most important, allot time accordingly and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to hold oneself accountable for actions, successes, and failures.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Ability to effectively work both independently and cooperatively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility in the work environment and willingness and ability to adapt to changing organizational needs.
  • Eager to learn and add long-term value to the organization.

Physical Requirements: Primarily sedentary work, exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally or a negligible amount frequently.

Physical Activity: Primary working position-sitting, with occasional standing, walking, stooping, crouching, and kneeling; frequent reaching, carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling, fingering, grasping, typing, talking - speaking clearly, hearing - conversation, and seeing - nearby.

Work/Environmental: Moderate noise level consistent with an office environment, occasional noise level consistent with a manufacturing setting.

Personal/Physiological: Interaction with people, working around people, delegating work, and holding oneself and others accountable for meeting deadlines and finishing work, planning of activities, making judgments on a regular basis, frequent changes in duties and volume of work, intra-organizational communication.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
