Position Description:The IT Support Specialist position installs, modifies and makes minor repairs to personal computer hardware and software systems, and provides technical advice and support to system users. Additionally, the IT Support Specialist will provide timely troubleshooting for hardware and software issues, analyze, resolve, and maintain both hardware and software for networks, email, desktops, and telecommunications. This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting and actively resolving end user help requests. Problem resolution may involve the use of diagnostic and help request tracking tools, as well as require that the individual give hands on help via Teams, phone, email or messaging to help resolve technical issues.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop new strategies and IT procedures to increase efficiency, aid in trouble shooting, enhance workflow and improve ease of use
  • Prioritize and schedule incoming help requests for end users
  • Perform hands-on fixed at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software and configuring systems and applications
  • Test fixes to ensure problem has been adequately resolved and perform post-resolution follow-ups
  • Access software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and frequently asked questions resources on the internet to aid a problem resolution
  • Identify and learn appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the organization
  • Update and add new users to organization software programs
  • Develop help sheets and knowledge base articles for end users
  • Inventory employee hardware

Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree and 2 yrs. of related experience
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in information technology or technical support
  • Extensive familiarity with Windows & Microsoft operating systems
  • Working knowledge of security software options and functionality preferred
  • Knowledge of hardware technology and concepts
