Statement of Job :
The University of Maine at Farmington (UMF) and the Department of Graduate and Continuing Education invite applicants for part-time faculty positions to teach in the areas ofCreative Arts in Counseling and / or Diagnosis & Treatment.
Creative Arts in Counseling courses provide a foundational understanding of what the Creative / Expressive Arts Therapies are and how they are used in a wide variety of settings.
Diagnosis & Treatment courses provide students with an understanding of psychopathology, the utilization of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders in clinical practice, assessment, and intervention of mental health diagnoses.
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, lesson planning, assignment design, grading, office hours, correspondence with students, course coordination meetings with the Program Director and / or other faculty members, and required orientation and training.
Part-time faculty members are paid on a credit hour basis based upon prior teaching experience, in accordance with the Maine Part-Time Faculty Association (PATFA contract).
Part-time, temporary faculty members may be rehired in subsequent semesters based on course availability, schedule, funding, and performance.
Continuation is subject to the terms of the PATFA bargaining agreement and other applicable College and University policies.
