JOB SUMMARY :
Under the general supervision of the Transfer Station Facilities Manager, this position is responsible for performing a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled duties at the Transfer Station Facility in operations, maintenance, and repair activities.
Also, responsible for complying with all safety rules and regulations related to Solid Waste.

EDUCATION :
Completion of high school or GED equivalent.
EXPERIENCE :
Requires a level of knowledge and ability to handle basic principles and their application to tasks with limited assistance.
Such a level is generally acquired with six (6) months of work experience as a laborer.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES :
It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion.
keeping customers, subordinates, peers, and supervisors informed; and listening.
Courtesy - Able to maintain courteous and effective working relationships with the public, County departments, co-workers, and other agencies
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS :
Must have a valid Colorado motor vehicle driver's license with no restrictions
Must have a working tele can be either cell or home .
Must pass a background check : Criminal and Traffic
Conviction of a crime will not be an absolute bar to employment
Must pass a drug test
Required legal authorization to work - United States citizenship or legal authorization to work in the United States
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT :

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stand for long periods of time, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, and reach with hands or arms.
Additionally, the employee is required to : walk, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, crawl, or crouch. Must be able to respond to the customers' needs and perform tasks requiring extensive hand and eye coordination.
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a variety of machinery. The employee must frequently lift and / or move objects in a range from 25 up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Hearing voice conversation is essential to safe and effective job performance.
Must be 18 years or older to operate most equipment.
The work environment characteristics described here represent those an employee encounters while performing essential functions of this job.
Work is generally performed outdoors. Employees in this position are exposed to all types of weather and non-weather conditions, exposure to extremes of temperatures, fumes, odors, dirt, dust, and wind.
Ability to operate equipment of varying sizes and the ability to move quickly to avoid damage to one's body parts. Occasionally operate a County vehicle in poor driving conditions.
Duties may require climbing and manual dexterity. The work environment may be stressful during peak activity periods demanding full attention and coordination of numerous tasks simultaneously.
POSSIBLE HEALTH RISKS SPECIFIC TO THIS POSITION :
This position has been determined to be an EXTREME exposure risk to "biohazards" associated with blood-borne pathogens HIV (aids), HAV (Hepatitis A) virus, HBV (hepatitis B) virus, and air-borne transmissions of TB (tuberculosis).
Inoculation may be required to prevent or treat exposures to "biohazards." The County provides inoculation of HAV, HBV (Testing for TB), Chickenpox, Tdap (Tetanus, Diptheria, & Pertussis), Meningococcal, MMR (Measles, Mumps & Rubella), and Influenza.
Some vaccinations are only required once in a lifetime, and you may be required to show documentation of the vaccine. Employees who decline to be vaccinated will need to sign a Declination
