Samuel Son is Hiring a Materials Coordinator Near Tucson, AZ

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Daily interaction with Manufacturing, and Shipping & Receiving Department to prioritize work, and material requirements.
  • Communicates with Shipping & Receiving teams to ensure timely receipt and distribution of supplies and materials.
  • Participates in annual inventory process.
  • Helps to coordinate manufacturing related movements or projects.
  • Helps to track expenditures of materials as needed.
  • Willingness to become familiarized with various company machinery, equipment, and safety related supplies.
  • Assist with loading and unloading incoming and outgoing materials and products as instructed.
  • Move materials to and from loading docks, delivery trucks, storage areas, and manufacturing areas.
  • Identify and label materials, and record their locations in yards, warehouse, and on the shelves to maintain inventory.
  • Monitor inventory levels and restock as needed to ensure that production can continue uninterrupted. 
  • Assist with preparing finished products for shipment by identifying their location then pulling, packing, and loading them.
  • Operate trucks, forklifts, cranes, and other equipment to move freight.
  • Perform and report cycle counts.
  • Comply with all yard/warehouse safety rules and guidelines.
  • Work with Project Managers, Supply Chain, and Receiving team to coordinate deliveries of new material as needed.
  • Prepare reports on material usage and inventory levels.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new inventory management procedures.
  • Enforce safety regulations when handling and storing materials
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure that materials are delivered to the correct locations in a timely manner. 

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficient in Excel, and Word 
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with or willingness to learn new software packages like M2M and Manager Plus.
  • 1-5 years of experience working in a warehouse setting or in logistics; experience in operating material handling equipment preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written skills.
  • Forklift Certified.
  • Must be able to work well in a team setting. 
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends.
  • Ability to read, write, follow instructions, and work independently with little guidance. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Lifting to 50 lbs. 
  • Must be willing and able to perform physical demanding tasks such as lift heavy objects, crawl, climb and stand for extended periods of time. 
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Handling and moving objects- using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
  • Must be able to climb ladders or make use of a lift. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Manufacturing environment, may be exposed to loud noises, changing temperatures, machinery with moving parts, and exotic materials.
