Overview:

The purpose of this position is to supervise, direct and coordinate a variety of service functions that are principally work-supporting to the Buffalo Veterinary Group hospital. The assistant practice manager will be responsible for the overall operations and success of our medical practice. In this important role, the successful applicant will act as an information resource and ambassador to patients, the general public, veterinarians and staff. They will support our practice manager in a multitude of administrative duties.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Physical Demands:

While veterinary experience is highly preferred, it is not required. The assistant practice manager must possess skill in communication, in delegating tasks, and be dedicated to the highest quality of care and success of our hospital. It is necessary that the assistant practice manager is highly organized, respectful, compassionate and has the ability to create a team that provides exceptional patient care as well as client care. The assistant practice manager must be able to accept responsibility of the entire veterinary team, mentor the support staff and work efficiently.

Functions:

• Assist monthly staff meetings and gather information from support staff to be covered

• Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the hospital and grounds through delegation to appropriate personnel

• Maintenance and review of veterinary medical records of patients for completeness of information and accuracy of billing

• Assist in resolution of customer conflict

• Direct on-the-job training to develop employee skills, mentor and guide the support staff in their performance

• Advise employees of performance requirements and their progress in meeting those requirements, discuss corrective measures to improve performance and help prepare appraisals

• Perform other duties as assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
