Green Acres Veterinary Center is looking for a rockstar manager to oversee our Veterinary Assistant team.

The purpose of this position is to supervise, direct, plan and coordinate a variety of service functions that are principally work-supporting to the Buffalo Veterinary Group hospitals. The Manager of Veterinary Assistant (VA) Team oversees the VA department to provide the constant cleanliness and maintenance of the hospital and grounds, to maximize the aesthetic appeal to the clients, wellbeing and comfort to the patients, safety and efficiency to the hospital staff.

Responsibilities:

• Head monthly staff meetings and gather information from support staff and the practice manager to be covered at the meeting.
• Ensure a safe, sanitary work environment and visually appealing grounds. This can be accomplished through delegation to appropriate personnel or the hiring of appropriate contractors.
• Ensure the proper practice standards pertaining to Housekeeping and Maintenance, and Patient Care, as dictated by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), are achieved and maintained when possible.
• Oversee/perform promotion of hospital products and services. Exercise a technical knowledge of procedures and products sold and demonstrate salesmanship abilities.
• Oversee communications and performance of the Veterinary Assistant team. Apply established guidelines and provide advice and solutions regarding hospital policy and protocols, and services.
• Direct and perform resolution of customer and team conflict and resolve informal employee complaints.
• Review charts of patients for completeness of information and accuracy of the VA teams' documentation.
• Provide feedback and recommendations concerning the profitability and day to day operation of the hospital, or concerning such personnel matters as staffing needs, advancement, re-assignments, hours of work or other status changes affecting the VA staff to the practice owners, other managers and/or administration.
• Initiate and implement protocols and policies to expedite efficiency, and work flow, as well as encourage teamwork and productivity.
• As required, recruit, interview and provide work schedule for VA support staff.
• Direct on-the-job training to develop VB employee skills.
• Ensure the VA team exemplifies the 5 core values.
• Prepare appraisals and advise VA employees of performance requirements and their progress in meeting those requirements, discuss corrective measures to improve performance, provide staff incentives; maintain effective employee-management communication.
• Perform all functions within the Buffalo Veterinary Group core values.
• Perform other duties assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour

Experience:

• Veterinary experience: 1 year (Preferred)
