Temple Sinai of Bergen County is Hiring a Member Services Coordinator Near Tenafly, NJ

Temple Sinai of Bergen County is a thriving Reform congregation located in Tenafly, NJ, only seven miles from Manhattan. Our diverse membership comes from all across Bergen County. We welcome individuals and families from all backgrounds who seek an invigorating Jewish experience.

The newly created position of Member Services Coordinator will report to the Executive Director and will bridge various departments to innovate and continuously improve our overall membership experience. If you have a passion for member experience, are team-oriented, have strong project management skills, and thrive when managing deadlines, problem solving, anticipating needs, and working well both independently and as part of a team, we want to hear from you.

The Member Services Coordinator is an at-will, full-time, non-FLSA exempt employee of the congregation. S/he reports to the Executive Director. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Be the first face & voice of Temple Sinai, providing excellent customer service to members and others via phone, email, and in person

· Support the Administration, Clergy, and Education departments including:

o Sending general correspondence: Thank you letters, statements, tax letters, birthday cards, yahrzeit letters, monthly postcards

o Attending all departmental meetings as notekeeper; distribute notes

o Managing logistics for meetings and events, coordinating with others as needed

  • Update member database with contact info, customer relationship management notes, etc.
  • Open, organize, and distribute mail, including general Temple email address
  • Manage tasks via project management software
  • Oversee website & social media content as directed

· As in any small office, there will be duties shared with co-workers.

o Cross-training in many other office tasks is expected.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree and/or 2 years administrative experience;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365. Knowledge of Canva, Monday.com / Asana preferred; ShulCloud experience a plus.
  • Able to reinforce our warm, friendly, and comfortable environment by interacting and communicating well with congregants, staff and others, both in person and via phone
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; able to prioritize multiple competing deadlines
  • Must be detail-oriented and meticulous
  • Available Monday – Friday, 9a-5p
  • This position is required to work on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur

Compensation & Benefits

· $20-22.50 per hour (commensurate with experience)

· 2 weeks / 10 days vacation

· 6 weeks new parent leave (birth or adoption) fully paid; 7 sick days annually

· Medical insurance if elected
