GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

The Route Manager is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of products along designated routes. This role involves overseeing all aspects of the delivery process, from loading to final delivery, while maintaining a high standard of customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate vehicle and equipment in a safe and efficient manner with courtesy and consistency
• Consistently hold a DOT medical Card to operate over the road equipment.
• Keep vehicles safe and clean; assist in scheduling maintenance that requires attention of third party
• Work in cooperation with the warehouse team in picking orders and with maintenance of warehouse
• Prepare a daily delivery schedule and coordinate efficient deliveries by applying knowledge of customer schedules, peak delivery times and alternate routes
• Safely load and unload deliveries according to size of load and content description
• Drive safely, obeying all traffic laws
• Ensure all delivery tickets and bills of lading are signed and submitted daily to promote efficient billing
• Communicate with manager and fellow employees regarding daily interactions with customers
• Follow all local and federal DOT regulations
• Daily Vehicle Inspection Report; submit to Branch Manager daily
• Administer an expense account for each trip by recording all expenses and maintaining all receipts
• Maintains company gas card, vehicle registration and proof of insurance; also, responsible for ensuring Driver License and Medical Certificate are current and on person at all times while driving company vehicle
• Performs other related duties as needed

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license - CDL preferred but not required
• Must have and maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
• No record of citation or conviction of any DUI / DWI within the previous 5 years
• Must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and functional screen
• Must consent to a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen
