KBW Financial Staffing and Recruiting has partnered with a growing law firm near Portland, Maine who is actively seeking a skilled Billing Specialist to manage and streamline billing operations.

This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of billing processes and requires a detailed-oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Our client is open to someone with strong AR / Billing experience ideally, out of legal but would equally entertain someone without legal billing experience for this position.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage draft billing reports, implementing necessary edits and adjustments as requested
• Process and finalize invoices accurately and efficiently in the accounting system, adhering to specific client and attorney requirements.
• Handle the preparation and submission of client invoices through various third-party billing platforms, resolving any submission issues.
• Address both internal and external billing and accounts receivable inquiries promptly and professionally.
• Manage client trust operations, including wire transfers and check issuance, as authorized.
• Assist with additional administrative finance duties as needed.

Required Skills And Experience

• 2 years of relevant AR / Billing experience within legal or outside of legal industry
• A proven track record of maintaining high accuracy in financial documentation and data entry.
• Outstanding customer service orientation, with a knack for professional and timely communication.
• Ability to navigate a fast-paced work environment, adapting quickly to shifting priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word) and familiarity with billing / accounting software are highly desirable.
