LHH is Hiring a HR Assistant Near San Mateo, CA

Position Title: HR Assistant
Location: San Mateo, CA
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and processing of bi-weekly payroll for all employees.
  • Ensure payroll data is accurate by collecting, calculating, and entering information.
  • Address and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee payroll issues promptly.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of payroll reports, tax filings, and other documentation as required.
  • Support internal and external payroll audits.
  • Monitor and manage the time and attendance system.
  • Review and approve employee timecards.
  • Resolve timekeeping issues and ensure accurate recording of hours worked.
  • Assist with the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits.
  • Process benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits and payroll.
  • Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Support the HR Manager with various HR projects and initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and payroll-related questions.
  • Assist in resolving employee issues and conflicts in a professional and confidential manner.
  • Perform general office tasks such as filing, data entry, and answering phones.
  • Assist with organizing and maintaining HR documentation and files.
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in payroll processing and HR support roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Paylocity, Workday).
  • Strong understanding of payroll principles, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Our program provides employees the flexibility to choose the type of coverage that meets their individual needs. Available paid leave may include Paid Sick Leave, where required by law; any other paid leave required by Federal, State, or local law; and Holiday pay upon meeting eligibility criteria.Pay Details: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour
