The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, handles the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluates accounting and internal control systems, and leads departmental staff. The Controller position is a permanent opportunity in the Salinas, California region.Your responsibilities in this role- Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports- Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation- Meet client expectations by reviewing deliverables of self and team to make sure they meet client satisfaction- Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis- Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation- Able to perform additional tasks beyond formal job duties- Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques- Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll- Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management- Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies- Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
