Job Summary:
The HR Manager is responsible for leading and managing the Human Resources (HR) functions including benefits, employee recruitment, systems administration, employee relations, performance management, compliance and safety. The HR Manager designs, plans, and implements related strategies, programs and services while ensuring efficient and effective management procedures and processes of existing programs/plans are in place. Working in collaboration with leadership, the HR Manager ensures these strategies and practices are aligned as well as meeting our regulatory requirements. Goal alignment, metrics, and competitive research/analysis are all important functions of this position. The HR Manager has an organization-wide impact and, is an effective coach, leader and change-agent across the organization. All activities must be in compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity laws, HIPAA, ERISA and other regulations, as appropriate. The HR Manager will maintain confidentiality, collaborate, and work effectively and positively with our internal team and leadership.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field plus 5 (5) to eight (8) years of proven demonstrated human resources experience including strong expertise and knowledge of employee relations & employment law, compensation, benefits, HRMS, compliance, theories and discipline preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership in leading and managing cross-functional HR responsibilities.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, and policies as it relates to employee relations, benefits and compensation.
  • Excellent consulting, influencing, employee management and business literacy skills.
  • Excellent communication (written, listening and verbal) and presentations skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with proven ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast-paced and high-energy environment. Flexible and highly adaptable to change.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and Human Resources Management System (HRMS).
  • High adaptability and flexibility, including the ability to manage deadline pressure, change and committed to results and execution.
  • Strong employee performance management, training and coaching, recognition, and reward skills.
  • Professional certification at PHR level or equivalent training and local engagement in SHRM preferred.
  • Ability to develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and/or improve standard operating procedures within department and cross-functionally and drive continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ability to travel as required to perform responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manages and supports existing programs (Performance Management, Job Descriptions, etc.) and develops/enhances programs aligning them with culture and risk-level then communicates, trains and administers the programs/processes.
  • Manages escalated inquiries, issues and concerns from managers and employees with a high level of service and, fast and fair resolution aligned with our programs, policies and values.
  • Manages and thoroughly investigates legal claims limiting risk and manages attorney relations when assistance is needed.
  • Monitors the pulse of the organization, labor market, regulatory changes and overall competitive landscape to identify and recommend employment offerings and services to support attracting, hiring and retaining talent and build our employment brand through effective communication strategies regarding our offerings.
  • Manages regulatory compliance i.e.; EEO, ERISA, FMLA, ADA, wage and hour, labor laws, and other related federal/state/local regulations/requirements, ensuring compliance through established audit processes and ongoing monitoring and makes recommendations to ensure legal compliance.
  • Oversees and manages compensation strategy, programs and processes ensuring market competitiveness, internal equity and legal compliance.
  • Oversees and manages the company benefit plans and programs (Health & Welfare plans, 401k, Company Programs, Wellness, and Leaves & Accommodations) including vendor/broker relations, plan design, enrollment, auditing, payment/funding, plan documents, recordkeeping, metrics and employee communications.
  • Oversees HR related computer systems in collaboration, ensuring accurate data entry, compliant administrative processes and opportunities for continuous improvement within all HR functions.
  • Ensures efficient and effective processes within all areas of responsibility and drives continuous improvement throughout the department and company.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
