Service Manager - Customer-Focused Position

Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced individual for the role of Service Manager, reporting to the General Manager. The Service Manager will oversee Service, Route, and Warehouse personnel, implementing policies and systems to ensure exceptional customer service. The role is responsible for the revenue and gross margin growth of the Service Department.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Daily reviews with Technicians and Route Drivers
  • Verify billing accuracy of service orders and routes
  • Schedule daily service work, deliveries, and warehouse activities
  • Identify revenue opportunities through lead generation, equipment upgrades, and service call upselling
  • Enforce company policies and minimum performance standards
  • Coach and counsel employees, addressing performance issues promptly
  • Spend 25% of time in the field performing service work or training missions
  • Respond to customer inquiries and resolve negative situations
  • Perform in-house repairs and reconditioning of reusable equipment
  • Install and remove equipment
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings and maintain safety programs
  • Ensure proper filing of general liability, fleet, and workers' compensation claims
  • Perform financial analysis of revenue and cost categories for improvement
  • Maintain an organized and neat warehouse
  • Manage equipment inventory and supplies
  • Ensure compliance with fleet PM schedules and DOT regulations

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of supervisory or management experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Valid driver’s license and necessary motor vehicle operations certificates
  • Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional lifting and carrying of equipment and products (50-200 pounds)
  • Significant walking and standing

Work Environment:

  • Frequent outdoor work with exposure to various weather conditions
