International Leadership of Texas is Hiring an Information Technology Administrator Near Richardson, TX

Primary Purpose:

A Network Administrator is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining an organization's network infrastructure. This role involves ensuring the smooth operation of network systems, troubleshooting network issues, and optimizing network performance. Network Administrators collaborate with IT teams to deploy network solutions that align with the organization's goals and security requirements. They also monitor network activity, analyze network traffic, and implement security measures to protect against cyber threats.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, preferred.
  • Certifications in Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA) or CompTIA Network , preferred.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

1. Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLAN).

2. Proficiency in network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.

3. Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, SNMP, PingPlotter).

4. Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing security measures (e.g., firewalls, encryption, intrusion detection/prevention systems).

5. Familiarity with operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux) and network services (e.g., Active Directory, LDAP, DNS).

6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

7. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

8. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

9. Must display and be willing to take initiative in resolving network issues.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT, preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in Network Engineering, preferred.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Designing, configuring, and maintaining network hardware and software components.

2. Installing and upgrading network equipment and systems.

3. Monitoring network performance and identifying areas for improvement.

4. Troubleshooting network issues and providing technical support to end-users.

5. Implementing security measures to protect the network from unauthorized access and cyber threats.

6. Managing network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and inventory.

7. Collaborating with IT teams to implement network solutions that support business objectives.

8. Performing routine maintenance tasks, such as backups and updates, to ensure network reliability.

9. Conducting network assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and compliance issues.

10. Providing training and support to staff on network-related technologies and best practices.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

As assigned by CIO. May have supervisory responsibilities.

Tools/Equipment Used: Hand tools and test instruments for electronic repairs and cable installations; standard office equipment including personal computers and peripherals

Posture: Prolonged sitting; regular kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting

Motion: Repetitive hand motion; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; regular walking, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching; may climb ladders

Lifting: Regular moderate lifting and carrying (up to 44 pounds); occasional heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds and over)

Environment: Work is performed in an office environment; frequent on-call and after-hours work; occasional districtwide travel; may be required to be on-call 24 hours a day.

Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; emotional control under stress

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
