Oak City Vision Center, O.D., PLLC is Hiring an Optician Near Raleigh, NC

About us

We are an independent Optometry office located in North Raleigh in a busy shopping center. We have an office dog that is in the office frequently, so the ideal candidate would enjoy the company of a furry four legged friend. One doctor on staff and we average 15-25 patients per day, ranging from routine vision exams to medical office visits. This position would have a base hourly rate, with a very attractive bonus structure allowing the Optician to significantly increase their take home pay. We are flexible.

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a skilled Optician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for eye care and providing exceptional customer service. As an Optician, you will assist customers in selecting eyeglasses and contact lenses, provide lens fitting, and ensure accurate prescription fulfillment.

**Responsibilities:**

- Assist customers in selecting eyeglasses based on their prescription and style preferences.

- Conduct lens fittings and adjustments to ensure proper fit and comfort.

- Interpret optical prescriptions written by optometrists or ophthalmologists.

- Educate customers on lens options, coatings, and frames to meet their visual needs.

- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

- Process orders for eyewear, including verifying insurance coverage and coordinating with labs for lens fabrication.

- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the selection, fitting, and follow-up process.

**Skills:**

- Strong sales skills with a focus on meeting customer needs.

- Knowledge of medical records management related to optical services.

- Familiarity with optical terminology and physiology.

- Experience in optical sales required.

- Understanding of pediatric eye care needs is a plus.
