POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position: Human Resources Coordinator, Full-time/Non-Exempt

Employed By: President/CEO

Responsible To: V.P. of Finance

Supervises: N/A

Salary Range: $ 35,000-45,000, plus health benefits

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Responsible for the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department record maintenance, benefits, leave, handling administrative and clerical duties as well. Works with V.P. of Finance and Chief Operating Officer (COO) with hiring and recruitment processes including interviewing and onboarding staff.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

  • Performs administrative work, including scheduling, maintaining files for the Human Resources department
  • Maintains records in all aspects of HR: Maintains employee files appropriately and in an organized manner with all required documentation. Maintains confidential files separately. Maintains health files separately. Follows all State and Federal record retention policies.
  • Under general direction: Assists with recruiting and interview processes including submitting job postings online, screening candidates and scheduling candidate interviews. Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications including references, fingerprints and DMV records. Coordinate logistics for new hire orientations, employee onboarding, and training sessions. Manage, track and ensure documentation of all trainings for employees utilizing the LMS system through Paycor. Enters and manages data into payroll/HRIS platform software - Paycor. Maintains the position management data and assists in preparation of monthly HR board reports. Coordinate employee engagement committee and activities. Assists with the employee evaluation processes. Assists with processing employee terminations and exit interviews. Coordinates health and employee benefit plans with supervisor. Assists with open enrollment process annually, processes new benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations. Ensures proper record-keeping including deduction amounts and deadlines are met to remain in compliance. Assists with planning the all-staff meeting agendas and take an active role preparing for and delivering content during the monthly meetings. This position may require you to drive a personal vehicle or BGCPC vehicle on BGCPC business. Keep up to date with current policies and make recommendations for needed changes of BGCPC employee related policies and procedures. Ensures timely processing of workers' compensation claims; evaluates accident reports to determine accuracy and completeness and to ensure adequate investigation; ensures that the BGCPC is in compliance with applicable laws and regulations; provides training and guidance to claims coordinators in all departments. Able to perform and complete other tasks and duties as assigned

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree with courses in human resource management preferred. Special consideration may be given for experience and personal qualifications in lieu of degree.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Commitment to gender equity issues.
  • Willingness to work in multicultural settings.
  • Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications.
  • Valid State Drivers License with little or no violations.
  • Pass pre-employment and random drug testing.

Physical Requirements/ Work/ Environment:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
