Hardwoods Distribution Inc. (HDI) is North America’s largest distributor of high-grade hardwood lumber, sheet goods, decorative millwork; architectural building products and decorative surfaces to the residential and commercial construction markets. Position Overview

The Accounts Payable position verifies and enters invoices into the Company’s accounting system for payment and /or accrual.

Responsibilities

• Matching Purchase Orders to Invoices and GRN’s (receiving receipts)
• Matching non-product back-up to Invoices
• Processing AP for product and non-product payables
• Ensure proper account coding of expenses and costs to the GL
• Reconcile vendor statements to verify that invoices have been paid
• Reconcile credit memos from vendors
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Paying non-inventory bills, i.e. utilities and services for multiple branches
• Problem solving when payables are not ready for payment due to any cost or receiving discrepancies

Qualifications

• 3 years’ experience in similar role
• Experience with balancing the general ledger, data entry and reconciling accounts is required
• Certificate or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in accounting is preferred
• Any experience with the accounting systems called Agility (DMSI) and / or Onbase (Worldview) preferred but not required
• Excellent Excel skills, as well as strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
