Position Description :
We are looking for an energetic quick learnerwith good communication skills who can meet strict deadlines. TheMaterial Handlers role is to facilitate material flow inside theplant be responsible for daily material transactions support workcenter associates and planners / buyers with material placement andflow and conduct incoming inspections on purchased parts.
Thisposition will also be a backup for shipping / receiving associates.The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail andexcellent problemsolving communication and teamworkskills.
Key Responsibilities :
Data entry sorting and verifying theaccuracy of receiving documentation before entering data into theoperating system.
Process documents such aspurchase orders and shipping receipts enter and process shippingand package information into FedEx UPS and computersystems.
Conduct incoming inspection ondesignated purchased parts.
Compile sort andverify the accuracy of shipping documentation before entering datainto the operating system.
Coordinate loadingof domestic trucks and international air logistics for deliveriesto customers or internal stockroom locations.
Actively participate incontinuous improvement (kaizen) events
Supportthe daily 5S cleaning and maintenance of the facility.
Qualifications :
High School diploma with years experience inmaterial handling / procurement or associate degree with at least 3years experience
Good understanding of shippingand regulations
Fork truck and power palletjack experience or certification
Driverslicense
General computer skills to includeworking knowledge of MS Office applications.
One to three years of relevant experience in a similarmanufacturing environment.
Ability tocohesively work in a team environment.
Possessand exhibit a positive attitude and winning spirit.
Physical Demands / Environment :
Reaching with both hands and arms and standing for extendedperiods
Frequent sitting squattingturning / twisting reaching and use of hands to finger handle feel oroperate tools or controls and computer keyboards
Frequent lifting carrying holding pushing / pulling up to50 pounds and 70 pounds on occasion
Specificvision abilities including close vision distance vision colorvision peripheral vision depth perception and adjustingfocus
Will be subjected to moving mechanicalparts extreme temperature and work space restrictions
Noise level in the work environment is frequentlyloud
