DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

The individual assigned to this position shall:

Report promptly at the designated time and place in proper uniform for assignment and inspection; listen attentively to orders and instructions of superior officers and read such materials as are made available to them; make written memoranda of information as necessary and immediately proceed with patrol duty upon completion of these tasks.

Be responsible for the accomplishment of the police mission; constantly be alert for violation of the law and make every effort to prevent breaches of the peace and offenses against persons or property; be held accountable for crime, accidents, disorders, and other criminal conditions that come or should come to the attention of the officer.

Become thoroughly familiar with the Picayune Police Department rules and regulations, general and special orders and policies and procedures. To this end, officer shall direct any questions regarding the above to a superior officer and shall continue to do so until the question is properly answered.

Carefully investigate all complaints that come to their attention. Suitable action shall be taken in such cases and interested parties shall be suitably informed on the laws relative to the complaint or incident.

Be responsible for preliminary investigation of all crimes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.10 - $19.51 per hour
