Credit Analyst

Polar Asset Management Partners is an alternative asset manager established in 1991, with offices in New York, Toronto, and Calgary. With approximately US$ 6.5 billion assets under management, we work together to deliver strong risk-adjusted returns for our investors.

We are looking to hire an Analyst to join our Credit Team. You will work directly with the Credit Portfolio Manager who will provide mentorship, development opportunities, and training.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct deep industry research and analysis, and execute company and sector level financial analysis and due diligence
• Maintain relationships and communicate with management teams and sell side analysts regularly
• Evaluate high yield and leveraged loan investments
• Maintain a strong understanding of bond and loan indentures
• Make trade recommendations

Skills & Qualifications:

• High performer with 2 years of experience in leveraged finance, investment banking or hedge fund investing
• Strong academic record, with a well-rounded and solid record of achievement
• Highly motivated, organized, detail oriented and proactive
• Ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues in a professional manner; outstanding ethics, integrity, and judgement; intellectual curiosity, strong work ethic and desire to learn
• Strong interpersonal skills, a proven team player who works well with a broad spectrum of peers, stakeholders, clients

Location: New York 

Compensation: Polar’s total compensation package includes base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. In accordance with New York City’s Pay Transparency Law, the estimated base salary range for this position is $140,000 to $165,000. The actual base salary pay will depend on several factors, including, but not limited to, the individual’s experience level, the qualifications they bring to the role, business needs, and market demand.
