LOCATION: New York, NY (hybrid remote)
Responsibilities for Global Controller
- Lead a team of managers and Accountants/Specialists
- Develop an effective “business partner” relationship with the Global Accounting and Compliance Manager and Finance Managers in Europe and Asia
- Mentor a highly capable accounting team through the ongoing attraction, development, and retention of skilled financial professionals. Review department staff capabilities and recommend improvements and development plans
- Review bank account reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations
- Oversee timely and effective U.S. and international employee payroll payment process, including Workday Payroll, finance and banking systems integration, wire transfers and check generation
- Oversee timely and effective vendor and expense payment processing through Chrome River
- Oversee wire and ACH transfers ensuring bank account paperwork, including authorized signers, is current
- Analyze financial information, including revenue, expense, net income, headcount, etc., for US offices provided by the Global Financial Reporting Team
- Prepare and review the annual budget for US and international offices, including operating expense budget and collaborating with others to estimate headcount and capital expenditures
- 10 years in a similar senior role at a law firm or professional services firm. CPA Required
- Broad financial experience, including exposure to domestic and international accounting, financial analysis, and systems issues
- Experience in implementing procedural improvements, internal controls, and financial practice management systems enhancements
- Strong accounting/finance skills and academic credentials
- Demonstrated broad experience across major finance disciplines, including accounting, finance and practice management systems
- Confident, proactive individual who uses reasoned fact-based arguments to anticipate and overcome objections and who is unflappable in challenging, complex situations
- A demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, consensus-driven, partnership environment with highly skilled professionals
