Carmel Partners Management is Hiring an Analyst, Investments Near New York, NY

Carmel Partners, one of the nation’s leading specialists in real estate investment management, with expertise in the investment, development, and construction of multi-family real estate, is seeking an Analyst in our New York Regional Office.

The Analyst’s primary responsibility is to analyze and underwrite potential acquisitions and dispositions. The Analyst will learn about all facets of the multifamily business (acquisitions/dispositions, rehab/development/debt, due diligence, transaction oversight), gain exposure to the company’s target markets, and play an integral role in helping the Investments Team maximize investment returns.

What you’ll do

  • Provide analytical support to the Development & Investments Teams to help the company maximize investment returns
  • Manage existing deal pipeline for assigned markets/sub-markets
  • Assist development teams with pursuits, due diligence, and financial analysis for potential development opportunities
  • Support the Investment Team’s quarterly disposition / valuation process with Fund Management
  • Prepare investment memoranda/packages for Investment Committee
  • Maintain and regularly update proformas during the lifecycle of investments, from the initial valuation and due diligence process through business plan execution and disposition
  • Prepare cash flow projections and business plans to evaluate investment alternatives and support exit strategies
  • Oversee the technical/underwriting training for Financial Analysts assisting the team
  • Other duties, responsibilities and special projects as assigned

What you’ll bring

  • Undergraduate degree in Business or Finance is required, MBA or other related graduate degree a plus
  • Two or more years of professional experience, with at least one year in the real estate investment business
  • Strong financial and numerical analytical skills
  • High proficiency with Excel reporting required, financial and cash flow modeling, MS Office suite, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook
  • Solid understanding of real estate finance, underwriting, and valuation methods
  • Demonstrated passion for real estate
  • Self-motivated and able to work in an autonomous, yet collaborative environment
  • Team player with a commitment to excellence and a high level of integrity

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $110,000. The Company provides this compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that it, in good faith, believes it might pay and/or offer for this position. Total compensation for this role also includes a bonus incentive in addition to the base salary. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, or federal law.
