Pre-school Teacher Needed
Shift: 8:00AM-4:00PM
Job Description:
Kid City Pre-school Teachers are expected to have a passion for working with children, engaging children in exciting activities, and celebrating the accomplishments of each child they teach.We expect our team members to be enthusiastic and flexible in meeting the changing needs of our school.
Our Staff Members Are:
◾Required to Become Certified in First Aid and CPR
◾Required to Get Screened and enrolled in the Tennessee Criminal Background Registry
◾Required to attend ongoing staff development and skill-building workshops
Qualifications:
-Four years documented experience OR degree in Early Childhood or Child Development preferred.
-Minimum two years of experience in child care, early childhood, child development or related, required.
-Infant/Child First Aid & CPR certification required. The company will cover expenses for this training, if needed for the right candidate.
-Excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
-Responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functions of a young toddler class.
-Plans with the Director and implements the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule using the Kid City curriculum outlines and materials.
-Provides an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages creativity.
-Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common areas and playgrounds
-Provides the children with verbal praises and acceptance while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children's behavior.
-Assists with and coordinates snack times
-Assists with and coordinates meals
-Assists with and coordinates naptime
-Assists with and coordinates bathroom activities
-Prepare FunPlans (fun-based lesson plans) for the children on a daily basis.
-Prepare creative activities that the children can participate in.
-Prepare games and other indoor activities the children can engage in.
-Monitor/assess the children’s progress and development on an ongoing basis.
-Prepare reports on the children’s development.
-Discuss the children’s progress with other teachers and parents.
-Establish routines and disciplinary procedures.
-Promote early education and literacy.
-Teach the children proper hygiene.
-Attend to the basic needs of the children such as dressing and feeding.
-Maintain complete and accurate records.
-Label and organize learning materials.
-Select, store and issue classroom supplies, equipment and materials.
