ResponsibilitiesFamily Practice Associates of Lexington, PSC is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our workforce. As a Senior Accountant at FPA, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial operations within our organization. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about healthcare finance and thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This position will report directly to the CEO. General responsibilities include:
- Manage all aspects of financial accounting and reporting for the organization.
- Process Accounts Payable and maintain the register within QuickBooks
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and budgets to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance to support strategic decision-making.
- Coordinate and lead the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Collaborate with the CEO, internal stakeholders and management, to provide financial guidance and support.
- Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, cash flow analysis and controls to enhance efficiency and mitigate risks.
- Develop and maintain provider financial reports
- Coordinate and collaborate with accounting firm on corporate income tax return filings and review quarterly
- Assist in payroll processing and review and reconcile payroll reports to ensure accuracy
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and optimize financial operations.
- Associates or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field is preferred
- Experience in healthcare accounting is a plus
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and healthcare finance regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook)
- Proficient in QuickBooks
- Fine motor skills required to answer the telephone, operate a computer, and take written messages (sometimes simultaneously).
- Knowledge of basic mathematics and ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness
- Good communication skills, both oral and written
- Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to prioritize a high volume of tasks
- Skill in preparation and presentation of reports
- Excellent analytical skills and problem solving ability
- Ability to prioritize and develop workflow
- Ability to sit and stand frequently and lift loads less than ten (10) pounds.
