Androscoggin Bank, a local community bank, is seeking an experienced and driven Accounts Payable Associate to join our team! Responsibilities include AP and check management, credit card oversight and more. Join a bank where you can be your authentic self, everyday! 

Essential Functions Include: 

• Responsible for Accounts Payable workflow which includes preparing, coding, analyzing and issuing checks in addition to sales and use tax reporting.
• Sets up accounts payable vendors.
• Follow up on A/P vendor statements.
• Sets up fixed assets.
• Post daily general ledger entries on the Navigator system.
• Responsible for balancing interoffice and following up on outdated tickets.
• Responsible for reconciling all of the Bank’s checking accounts
• Responsible for researching and correcting non-posted transactions.
• Assists employees, vendors, clients, or external customers by answering questions related to accounts and services.
• Responsible for posting descriptions to income and expense postings made at the teller line.
• Reviews the year’s payable history and checks the accuracy of generated 1099 reports.
• Shares responsibility with the Senior Accountant to produce several monthly reports and reconciliations, including the payroll proof, the Bank’s Contributions, Dues, Sponsorships, etc
• Oversees the transaction side of the Bank’s Elan Onecard program- reviewing all transactions from employees and ensuring their accuracy, securing proper documentation, and overseeing the posting of all such items.
• Responsible for sorting the department’s mail.
• Complies with all banking related laws and regulations communicated to the employee through training and/or written correspondence and those requirements reflected in the Bank's policies and procedures applicable to the employee's duties and/or areas of responsibility. Protects all customer information and institution assets and complies with privacy and acceptable use policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Manager

Education and/or Experience

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to two years to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Qualifications:  

• Two or more years progressively responsible accounting experience.
• Proven knowledge of accounting principles and experience with bank reporting and regulations.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks.
• Proven communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with multiple computer applications, specifically word processing, spreadsheet and database management software as well as coding data-based reports.
• Ability to perform detail oriented work with a high degree of accuracy.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and complete work in a timely manner.
