Upscale Tavern, located in Le Roy NY, is looking to hire a CDC to oversee the daily Back of House Operations. The Chef de Cuisine’s role is to ensure impeccable food quality and hygiene standards while maintaining the efficiency and safety of the Back of House environment.
The CDC will be continuously present before and throughout Dining Service to ensure the Kitchen runs smoothly at all times and to provide operational leadership and support for day-to-day functions including staff training and development, food and bakery production, banquets, menu implementation, inventory management and vendor communication.
In conjuncture with the Management Team, the CDC would be responsible to:
· Maintain overall organization by upholding standard operating procedures
· Delegate tasks to ensure efficiency and productivity and coordinate prep amongst Kitchen Staff
· Manage inventory
· Build strong relationships with all vendors and suppliers; troubleshoot any supplier issues promptly
· Order product and ensure accuracy upon delivery
· Work with Management Team to train Kitchen Staff of proper techniques and continual education within the Culinary Field
· Ensure BOH Team is set for service: station set-up and breakdown
· Communicate Pre-Shift to Front Of House
· Act as Expo during Dinner Service and restaurant events
· Ensure customer satisfaction by dealing with dietary restrictions, special requests and rectifying complaints and send backs
· Take lead on the prep work and execution of private events and restaurant-wide functions
· Comply with all Health and Safety Standards and Regulations
Skills and Experience
· Previous experience as a Chef or Cook
· Hands-on experience with a variety of kitchen equipment
· Advanced knowledge of culinary, baking and pastry techniques
· Time management and Leadership skills
· Ability to remain calm and multi-task
· Familiarity with Sanitation regulations
Full-Time, Schedule is as follows, subject to change based on seasonality and events:
Tuesday 9AM- 3PM, Prep/ Management Meetings
Wednesday 9AM-3PM, Prep
Thursday 12-9PM
Friday 12-9PM
Saturday 12-9PM
Sundays – as needed for Private Events
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
