Role Overview:
As a vital member of our senior leadership team, the Director of Electrical Engineering plays a pivotal role in guiding and leading our Electrical Engineering Discipline. This position is instrumental in supporting our firm's strategic business objectives, providing design-focused thought leadership, and fostering the growth of our firm within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with team members to develop overarching design concepts and formulate effective design presentation strategies.
- Provide creative and process leadership to multiple design teams throughout all project phases.
- Set the standard for design vision and creativity for staff and clients across various market sectors.
- Cultivate strong relationships within the electrical engineering discipline and actively engage in local and national professional organizations.
- Partner with office and project management to align design direction with strategic business initiatives, profitability goals, and company values.
Summary of Duties:
- Promote and embody the firm’s mission, vision, and goals through design leadership.
- Establish design approaches with electrical engineering practice leadership to meet client expectations.
- Implement design approaches for projects of all scales, ensuring innovative and client-centric solutions.
- Develop firm-wide design processes and provide consistent design direction and support.
- Strengthen the firm’s market reputation through thought leadership and strategic planning.
- Participate in setting goals and strategies for practice growth and development.
- Lead employee recruitment and retention efforts, fostering a culture of respect and collaboration.
- Participate in transforming program requirements into design solutions.
- Monitor design processes across projects and participate in marketing strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
- 15 years of experience in Electrical Engineering Design.
- Completion of PE Exam is required; licensure in the state of Tennessee is preferred.
- Strong understanding of the Electrical Engineering Discipline with emphasis on client expectations.
- Experience as a lead designer on projects of varying scales and complexities.
- Proficiency in design software including AutoCAD, Revit (preferred), and Microsoft Office suite.
