We are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Specialist to join our team! The Business Development Specialist is responsible for increasing sales by developing and maintaining relationships with customers and clients. Duties may include identifying prospective customers, following up on potential sales leads, and maintaining relationships with existing customers. The Sales Representative reports directly to the Director of Sales.
Duties:
· Build and sustain long-lasting relationships with new and existing customers based within an assigned sales territory
· Traveling within an assigned sales territory to conduct face-to-face meetings with existing and potential customers
· Maintain constant awareness of lane balance needs and direct efforts to continuously improve balance in major traffic lanes
·Continuously seek freight that will address driver retention issues
·Developing and implementing an effective sales strategy to drive sales
·Maintain accurate records of all leads, customer accounts, and sales
·Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
·Great customer service skills
·Interpersonal skills to work with a wide variety of people each day, building relationships and networks
·Confidence and strong self-assuredness
·Communication skills, especially persuasion, to convey the product to potential customers
·Organizational skills
·Must be able to pass a drug test
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or GED required.
· Bachelor's degree preferred.
· Proven outside sales experience.
· At least 2 years of experience in the transportation industry or logistics industry
