We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Accounts Payable Specialist to join our vibrant team. This is a permanent position within our manufacturing company. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our financial team, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our financial operations. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and has a keen eye for detail.
ResponsibilitiesAs an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for
- Managing the full cycle of accounts payable activities including receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner.
- Processing purchase orders and verifying their conformity with invoices and contracts.
- Preparing and executing payment orders in accordance to company policies.
- Maintaining accurate and complete financial, employee, and client records.
- Resolving purchase orders, contracts, invoices, or payment discrepancies and documentation.
- Ensuring credit is received for outstanding memos.
- Issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments.
- Maintaining confidentiality of organizational information.
- Assisting in month end closing and audits as needed.
- Collaborating with the procurement team and other departments to improve and streamline processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
- Solid understanding and experience with purchase orders.
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, and experience with accounting software.
- Strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts, and corporate procedures would be considered an asset.
