Our Carpenters will be responsible for general carpentry tasks associated with interior or exterior renovation projects at Fort Wayne International Airport.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Work and maintain knowledge of various construction materials, including wood, fiberglass, steel, and concrete
• Read and interpret building plans/blueprints for large and complex structures
• Take the measurement of distances and materials to establish the dimension/size of a structure
• Cut, shape, and smoothen the surface of materials using power saws and sanders
• Erect walls, doors, window frames, furniture, and other structures
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations to minimize the risk of a workplace accident
• Build and layout flooring and dry walls to ensure accurate elevation
• Follow construction plans and instructions from supervisors or more experienced workers
• Additional responsibilities as needed

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Past carpenter experience is a plus
• Ability to obtain and maintain an airport security badge
• Reliable transportation to the worksite
• Ability to work on a team and independently
