THE JOB
A great opportunity exists with a dynamic Architecture firm in Edmonton for a talented Designer (Architectural) to join their team. This is an excellent but smaller studio with an impressive portfolio of work and modern and progressive design work.
- With support from Architects, develop a wide range of high quality architectural designs for a broad range of project typologies for clients and design teams, that meet parameters, project timelines and budgetary requirements
- Gain familiarity with current design trends, building systems and presentation techniques to improve skills and implement them on project work
- Conduct research
- Attend meetings with design teams and clients
- Prepare drawings, models and renderings, following office standards
- Prepare and coordinate presentation materials to ensure project documentation is complete and accurate
- Perform programming, code research, material and building systems research, site surveys and field reviews, laying out program components and calculating program and building areas
- Work collaboratively with other architects and staff to ensure successful design delivery
- Possess at least 8 years of experience working with Architectural Design, with at least 4 years coming from within North America
- Have successfully completed an architectural related post-secondary education - a bachelor of Architecture or similar preferred
- Some experience with 3D rendering is preferred
- Have experience in architectural design presentation
- Registration with an association is desirable
- Have excellent communication skills
