Description
Under general supervision, performs fiscal control and governmental accounting work in a division of a large Town department.
Is responsible for various parts of the bookkeeping cycle including billing, receipts, deposits, balancing and control. Reports to division supervisor.
Minimum Requirements (Must meet by the closing date of the posting unless otherwise stated)
Graduation from high school or equivalent supplemented by vocational course work in bookkeeping or accounting;
One (1) to two (2) years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting-clerical work.
Special Requirements
enters information into computer and additionally must keep some independent manual records.
maintains and prints records of earnings and leave time.
May be asked to perform the following functions as time permits :
contacts accounts payable technicians regarding discrepancies in invoices and accounts.
