About Whitten Regional Center
Whitten Regional Center is a residential facility of the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs located in Clinton, SC serving residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Job Responsibilities
Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for the oversight of all aspects of their assigned department1.Ensures Active Treatment for consumers in assigned areas is implemented by staff.
2. Provides supervision to Workforce Specialists I in the assigned Day Supports Area(s) areas and DSPs when assisting the consumers in the Day Supports areas.
3. Monitors documentation to ensure completion and accuracy.4. Maintains an environment that is clean / safe, ensuing accountability needs are met based on accountability plans for each consumer, and promoting an environment that provides dignity and respect to all consumers, free from abuse.
5. Ensures compliance with regulations for DDSN, DHEC, and DOL
6. Attends ISP meetings, and business meetings as scheduled.
This position is eligible for up to $3.50 / hourshift differential for applicable shifts!
The South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs offers an exceptional benefits package for FTE positions that includes :

Minimum and Additional Requirements
High school Diploma and four years of experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
A Bachelor's degree may substitute for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing ICF / ID, as well as Department Directives relevant to ICF. Must have General knowledge of individuals with intellectual disabilities and basic safety practices.
Must exercise sound judgment, complying with all required regulations and procedures; must be a team leader and maintain effective working relationships;
must be able to perform basic administrative tasks. This position requires computer skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be physically able to work with consumers who may be physically aggressive or medically fragile. Must be able to work in a face-paced work environment and ICF.
Must possess a valid SC Driver's License.
Physical abilities include lifting, pushing, standing, stooping, bending, pulling, walking, and running. Must be physically able to work with individuals who may be physically aggressive or medically fragile.
Must have the ability to work in an ICF.

State Disaster Plan : In accordance with the State's Disaster Plan, which includes hazardous weather, DDSN employees may be required to work in times of an emergency or disaster.
